DoPS summons Tom Wilson for an in-person hearing after violent high stick on Noah Gregor during a game.

It was just confirmed by the Department of Player Safety that Wilson will need to appear at a hearing in personm which means that a five-game suspension is likely..

"Washington's Tom Wilson has been offered an in-person hearing for high-sticking Toronto's Noah Gregor. Date and time TBD."

Elliotte Friedman gave us more details:

"Opens the possibility Wilson could be suspended longer than 5 games"

This isn't very surprising, as it isn't the first time that Wilson injures an opponent.

By giving him a longer suspension, the NHL surely hopes that he'll be more careful on the ice and won't injure players anymore.
