In 2022, Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was on the bad end of the stick where he had to go through an unfortunate carjacking by a set of criminals. Today, the charges have officially been dropped.

According to Rick Westhead, the charges made in relation to Marner's carjacking situation have finally been dropped after two years of long awaiting.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was robbed in an armed carjacking outside a movie theatre in May 2022.
Police announced a pair of arrests nearly a year later, citing months of «non-stop legwork» investigating the robbery.
Now, court documents show a Crown attorney has withdrawn all charges against both men, telling a court there wasn't "a reasonable prospect of conviction."

With the Leafs losing in round one versus the Boston Bruins, Marner faced a lot of scrutiny for his play. He is now rumored to be on his way out of Toronto via trade and this news is just even worse for the Maple Leafs star, which can make a big cause of concern with him no longer being in the city.

However, Toronto Police are looking into another potential suspect who has been involved in the situation.
