Brad Marchand officially out with injury after punch from Sam Bennett
The Boston Bruins have lost their captain Brad Marchand after he took a punch from Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett during last night's game.
It was just announced that Brad Marchand is officially out day-to-day after taking a hit from Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett.
Boston coach Jim Montgomery said Marchand is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, but was upset about the hit and apparent punch from Sam Bennett adding there's a history with him and «evidence of what went on.»
Florida's Paul Maurice defended his player, saying he didn't see it the same way.
Here is the hit that Marchand took.
Marchand appeared to be in some pain after taking a hit from Bennett.
Marchand is the Bruins leader on and off the ice posting 10 points through the playoffs so far and being their captain.
As it stands, the Bruins are down 2-1 in their series against the Panthers and will need to mount a comeback without Marchand if they want to win this series.
