The Anaheim Ducks young core is one of the best in the NHL, with Troy Terry, Trevor Zegras, Leo Carlsson and Mason MacTavish all expected to be big parts of the future, but now, things have become murky.
Despite putting up some fantastic numbers and bringing attention to the organization, Trevor Zegras remains a restricted free agent, and while the threat of an offer sheet is out there, the Ducks don't seem to be in a hurry to sign him to a long-term deal.
This, unsurprisingly has rubbed the young forward the wrong way, especially after the team locked in Terry on a seven-year, $7 million AAV deal, and now, he's sent a shot to Ducks management.
In his latest interview with NHL.com, Zegras made a massive statement, claiming that among other things, he would not step foot in California again until he has a deal in place.
He hasn't given up on the team, as he is clearly remaining in shape and getting ready for the season, but after two straight 60 point seasons, the 22-year old is making it clear that he wants a contract.
