The New York Rangers are looking to make some big changes this off-season, and it appears they are pushing hard to move captain Jacob Trouba.
After a disappointing run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, it appears Jacob Trouba's time in New York is coming to an end, with the team reportedly pushing hard to make a trade happen. Unfortunately for the front office, Trouba has a no-movement clause, and he has already used it to block trades to both Detroit and Buffalo.
#Sabres and #NYR had actually worked up a deal for Kaapo Kakko and Jacob Trouba before everything went south. Was looking like the Rangers were going to clear some significant space.
Buffalo is still interested in Kakko at this time.
The team aren't giving up on moving their captain however, as it has been reported that teams remain interested, with the San Jose Sharks becoming a surprise destination for the hard-hitting star.
#NYR would be able to move Trouba almost instantly if he waived his NMC to #Sabres, #LGRW, and #FlyTogether. As of now its looking like a buyout, 3rd line pairing is the most likely option.
I would keep an eye on #Sharks too if that NMC gets waived.
If all else fails, the Rangers may need to resort to a simple buy-out, but as of right now, they're pushing hard to move him and clear up some much needed cap space as they attempt to chase the elusive Stanley Cup.
