John Tortorella shared his thoughts on what it would take for the star player to be successful in the NHL playoffs.
There were a lot of mixed reactions depending on how you feel the game should be played. It also relied heavily on how you feel the playoffs should be officiated during the post season. There has been a lot of criticism for the NHL being the only league on the world where the rule set changes for the post season and that was highlighted by McDavid not being able to draw a single penalty in the Oilers' first round loss to the Jets.
Sportsnet's Jeff Marek sent out a tweet which was quickly replies to by McDavid's Agent, Jeff Jackson.
It seems Jackson unsurprisingly disagrees with Tortorella. This isn't a shock seeing as Jackson represents the best player in the game hands down.
With the new ESPN contract it'll be interesting to see how ESPN feels about the playoffs rules and whether or not they'll advocate for more penalties to ensure the star players are playing late into the spring making the game more marketable.
