700-Game NHLer Signs A Contract After Two Years Of Being Away
The NHL is approaching training camp in just a few short days. This means many teams are finishing up their final signings before camp opens. One team took the opportunity to sign a seasoned veteran to their squad.
700 Game NHLer Signs In Detroit
The Detroit Red Wings are looking to get back to their winning ways and in the playoffs again. One move they have now made to help this process is signing Artem Anisimov.

Anisimov will come in on a pro tryout and look to make the roster. Anisimov has 771 games played and 376 points in his career. He last played in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators in 2019-20.
Red Wings Looking To Follow The Yzerplan
This will be Steve Yzerman's 5th year as the General Manager of the Detroit Red Wings. Many were hoping that the Yzerplan would bring success back to Detroit. So far all Detroit has gotten is disappointment and promises of a better future. While the team does have some promising young players in Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider they are still a long way away from a contending core.
A player the Anisimov is not what the standard should be for the Red Wings at this stage. While Anisimov in his prime was a good middle six player now he is barely NHL caliber. If the Red Wings struggle to compete this upcoming year Yzerman's job may begin to be in jeopardy.
