The Worst May Be Confirmed for Juraj Slafkovsky
Slafkovsky to be Demoted?
A reporter for a Montreal newspaper talked about Slafkovsky's near future. More precisely, what are the Canadiens going to do with him when the season begins?
The Canadian already has 12 forwards with NHL contracts. A group to which we must add the name of Juraj Slafkovsky. If everyone is healthy, at the end of training camp, there will be no room for a new kid on the roster...
...However, a start to the season in Laval for Slafkovsky is not impossible... The top pick in the 2022 draft missed the entire second half of the season with a left knee injury.
If he wants to play in the NHL, Slafkovsky will need to prove he's ready in the training camp. If he doesn't perform well, he might start the season in the AHL.
Slafkovsky to Start Next Season in the AHL?
If the Canadiens decide to send Slafkovsky in the AHL, it'll be for the good of his development. There, he'd be one of the best players in the team and would get a lot of ice time.
Slafkovsky played only 39 games last season, before he got injured and missed the second half of the season. He only scored 10 points during that time.
At 19, coming into his second year in North America, things could be completely different. We can't wait to see how he plays in the training camp.
