#Sens acquire forward Alex DeBrincat from @NHLBlackhawks in exchange for three draft picks:
This past offseason, they decided to call it quits on the DeBrincat experiment and traded him to Detroit for a reduced price.
Trade Alert! The #Sens have acquired forward, Dominik Kubalk, defenceman, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional first-round draft pick in '24 and a fourth-round draft pick in '24 from the Detroit Red Wings, in exchange for forward, Alex DeBrincat.
The Real Reason He Demanded A Trade
In a major revelation, we now know why the Senators traded DeBrincat to the Red Wings.
Sources say he didn't like his role as a second-line winger behind captain Brady Tkachuk. If that's the case then DeBrincat really did have to go.
This would make a lot of sense considering how DeBrincat saw a massive drop in production playing on the 2nd line. If DeBrincat were to be playing on the first line, he would likely have eclipsed to 40-goal mark once again.
However, what's done is done and now DeBrincat will get his opportunity to play on the Red Wings' first line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond.
