Alex DeBrincat's Reason For Demanding A Trade Revealed
Alex DeBrincat forced his way out of Ottawa this offseason and the real reason for this has now been revealed.
DeBrincat Trade Saga
Last offseason the Ottawa Senators gave up a haul to acquire Alex DeBrincat at the NHL draft.
Welcome to the Nation's Capital, Alex!
#Sens acquire forward Alex DeBrincat from

in exchange for three draft picks:
This past offseason, they decided to call it quits on the DeBrincat experiment and traded him to Detroit for a reduced price.
Trade Alert! The #Sens have acquired forward, Dominik Kubalk, defenceman, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional first-round draft pick in '24 and a fourth-round draft pick in '24 from the Detroit Red Wings, in exchange for forward, Alex DeBrincat. The Real Reason He Demanded A Trade
In a major revelation, we now know why the Senators traded DeBrincat to the Red Wings.
Sources say he didn't like his role as a second-line winger behind captain Brady Tkachuk. If that's the case then DeBrincat really did have to go. This would make a lot of sense considering how DeBrincat saw a massive drop in production playing on the 2nd line. If DeBrincat were to be playing on the first line, he would likely have eclipsed to 40-goal mark once again.
However, what's done is done and now DeBrincat will get his opportunity to play on the Red Wings' first line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond.
As seen on Hockey Feed - The real reason DeBrincat forced a trade out of Ottawa.
