Canucks prospect Aleksei Medvedev has been traded from the London Knights to the Peterborough Petes in a three-pick deal that includes a 2028 second-rounder.

The Peterborough Petes have landed one of the OHL's most accomplished young goaltenders.
The club announced Friday that it acquired Vancouver Canucks prospect Aleksei Medvedev from the London Knights, sending three draft picks the other way.
Peterborough gave up a second-round pick in 2028, the Soo's third-round pick in 2027 and a fifth-round pick in 2030.
General manager Michael Oke announced the move.

A championship résumé in net

Medvedev, a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, was taken by London in the second round, 38th overall, of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.
Vancouver drafted him in the second round, 47th overall, in 2025 and signed him to a three-year entry-level contract that July.
His rookie season in London was a strong one.
He went 22-8-2 with a 2.79 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage in 34 games, won the Dinty Moore Trophy as the top rookie in GAA and made the OHL's first all-rookie team.
London won the J. Ross Robertson Cup and the Memorial Cup that year.
Across his time with the Knights, the Petes list him at 78 games, 41 wins, a 3.08 GAA and a .901 save percentage.
That means his numbers since the rookie year have been less sharp.

What it means for Peterborough

The Petes sit at 8-10-0 after a 4-3 home loss to Windsor on Thursday, when a late power play goal decided it.
Adding a goaltender with Memorial Cup experience and an NHL contract is a notable swing at a key position.
The price is real, too. A second, a third and a fifth is a lot of draft capital for a junior team to move, and it shows how highly Peterborough rates him.
Oke pointed to his experience, his championship background and his deal with Vancouver as reasons for the excitement.
Medvedev remains Canucks property, so Vancouver will still be tracking his development.
The next look at the Petes comes Sunday, Nov. 8, against Niagara at 2:05 p.m.
