The Montreal Canadiens have confirmed the unfortunate passing of four time Stanley Cup champion Phil Goyette at the age of 92; he was the second oldest former member of the club.

The Montreal Canadiens confirmed the unfortunate passing of a former player that was part of their decorated history.
Phil Goyette, who had been the second-oldest living former member of the team, passed away at the age of 92 as confirmed by a team issued news release.
It is with great sadness that the Montreal Canadiens learned of the passing of Phil Goyette on January 17. At 92 years old, the former forward was the second oldest among the Canadiens Alumni.

In addition to his playing career, Goyette was also the first ever coach for the New York Islanders.

Phil Goyette Won Four Stanley Cups During His NHL Career With The Montreal Canadiens

Goyette would first start play for the Canadiens in the 1956-57 season after playing for the Montreal Nationale and the Montreal Jr. Canadiens of the QJHL, the Cincinnati Mohawks of the IHL and the Montreal Royals of the QHL.
He would play multiple years in a Canadiens sweater, winning the Stanley Cup in 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960.
He later played another seven years in a New York Rangers sweater, and would play one year for the St. Louis Blues. He and his Blues teammates lost in the 1970 Stanley Cup Final that was ended by Bobby Orr's famous OT GWG.
Goyette then played two years for the Buffalo Sabres before returning to the Rangers for eight games in 1972.
In 941 career NHL games with the Canadiens, Rangers, Sabres and Blues, Goyette had 674 points (207G, 467A).
