Per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, a new name for the Vancouver Canucks is emerging in trade possibilities and could be traded to another Canadian team, this time in the Eastern Conference.
There isn't much going right for the Vancouver Canucks right now, who have sunk all the way to the bottom of the standings in both their division and the western conference.
There are going to be several moves coming for the team in the near future as they look to shed assets while building for the future.
Multiple players are involved in trade rumours, including Jake DeBrusk, Kiefer Sherwood, Conor Garland and Elias Pettersson.
Per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, a new name has entered the discussion as a potential trade candidate, and it's defenseman Filip Hronek.
Elliotte Friedman: Filip Hronek has a no-move clause, he has control over it; if he was available, I could see a team like Ottawa doing something, I could see a whole bunch of teams calling - 32 Thoughts (1/16)
So far this year, Hronek has 27 points (3G, 24A) in 48 games.
Filip Hronek Was Recently Re-Signed By The Canucks To A Lengthy Extension
Hronek was taken with the 53rd overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings, and would play the first several years of his career in a Red Wings sweater before being traded in 2023 to the Canucks.
The Canucks then signed him to an eight year contract in 2024 with an AAV (average annual value) of $7.25 million.
In 499 career NHL games, Hronek has 265 points (43G, 222A).
