Per a new report from NHL analyst Chris Johnston, the Vancouver Canucks are prepared to explore a move for forward Connor Garland despite his long contract.
Things have fallen apart for the Vancouver Canucks, especially in the last several weeks amidst a long losing streak.
Their multi-game winning streak last month after the stunning trade of captain and former Norris Trophy winner Quinn Hughes has been long forgotten, and they've sunk to the bottom of the standings in their division.
Multiple players are heavily involved in trade rumours, among them being Kiefer Sherwood and Elias Pettersson.
Another name that has been commonly thrown out in trade rumours is forward Conor Garland despite there being several years left on his contract.
Per a report from NHL analyst Chris Johnston, Garland could be moved at some point as the trade deadline approaches.
So far this year, Garland has 22 points (7G, 15A) in 34 games played.
Conor Garland Is One Of Many Players Who Could Be Moved By The Canucks
As the Canucks have sunk to the bottom of the conference, multiple players, including Garland, have been suggested as trade possibilities.
Garland was taken 123rd overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, where he would play until his RFA rights were traded with Oliver Ekman-Larsson, to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Jay Beagle, Loui Eriksson, Antoine Roussel, and several draft picks.
In his career, Garland has 313 points (129G, 184A) in 519 games.
