Kiefer Sherwood is a red-hot commodity for the Vancouver Canucks, and now four teams have been named as front-runners for the veteran forward.
The Vancouver Canucks 2025/26 season has been a disaster, and with the team staring down a potential top-five pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, it makes sense that they may want to move on from some top veterans.
Already this season, the Canucks have traded captain Quinn Hughes, and now, with their struggles continuing, it's becoming likely that they could look to deal Conor Garland, Elias Pettersson, and Kiefer Sherwood, among others.
Contenders lining up to land Kiefer Sherwood
Sherwood, however, is the player that's drawing the most attention, with the Canucks reportedly looking for a first-round pick and more to move the 30-year-old veteran in the midst of a career year, following a record-breaking 2024/25 when he set the NHL single-season record for hits.
Now, top NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has given the latest on his situation with Vancouver, naming the Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, and San Jose Sharks as teams that are genuinely inquiring about him.
This season, Sherwood has posted 17 goals and 23 points in 43 games played, and given the physicality that he plays with consistently over 200ft, he would be an absolutely massive pickup for any contending team in the league.
As of right now, it's unclear who is the favourite to land Sherwood and if a team has even put in a significant offer, but as the trade deadline draws near and teams get more desperate, expect him to land Vancouver a significant return.
