Utah embarasses the Arizona Coyotes with sale of season tickets
The new NHL team in Utah already embarassed the Arizona Coyotes with the sale of season tickets.
With the confirmation of the Coyotes' relocation to Utah, many fans were disappointed. However, everyone knew it was coming. The Coyotes played in a minors league venue and even the people of Arizona didn't want a new arena built; they voted against it a few months ago.
In Utah, people are ecstatic. This will be the first NHL team to play in Salt Lake City and the fans are ready for it.
Yesterday, shortly after the relocation was confirmed, a website was launched, on which fans could pay a first deposit for season tickets.
In less than six hours, Utah sold 11,000 season tickets.
Per Ryan Smith, chairman of the Smith Entertainment Group, owner of the team:
"11,000 and counting Utah shows up!"
No one can deny the buzz in the city about the NHL's arrival. The 2024-25 season promises to be historic for the people of Salt Lake City.
