Sheldon Keefe takes a SHOT at the Arizona Coyotes - Also calls out his top players

Last night the Arizona Coyotes defeated the mighty Toronto Maple Leafs in their own barn.

This is not something that is supposed to happen. The Maple Leafs are supposed to be atop the standings and the Arizona Coyotes are supposed to be near the bottom, tanking for Connor Bedard.

The Coyotes took an early 2-0 lead before the Leafs stormed back to tie it at 2. Eventually though they lost 4-2 after a controversial review led to the Leafs having their third goal overturned.

After the game during the press conference, the Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe commented on their play and took a slight shot at the Coyotes.

Our best people have not found their rhythmThe difference between us and Arizona is that we have elite players. Our elite players didn't play like elite players today and couldn't make a difference.

Last season we saw Auston Matthews score 60 goals and 106 points, and so far this season he has 1 goal and 1 assist in 4 games. We also saw Mitch Marner score 35 goals and 97 points last season and while he is doing better than Matthews, he still only had 1 goal and 3 assists in 4 games.

So it is fair to say that the Maple Leafs best players have not hit their stride yet this season, but was Keefe stepping over the line what he said the Coyotes do not have elite players?
