NHL May Follow Suit After Top League Makes Major Rule Change
The KHL has implemented a new rule that speeds up the game and the NHL may follow suit after seeing if it is successful in doing so.
KHL Implements Major Rule
Often times we see a stalemate between a defender and forward with the defender behind the net and the forward waiting to see which way the defenseman moves the puck.
The KHL wants to eliminate this problem and has done so with a rule that prevents a player from holding onto the puck for more than three seconds.
Should The NHL Implement This Rule
At the moment, it is hard to say whether or not the NHL should implement this rule. It projects as a beneficial game but if players do not care, they could just exploit the rule change to get a line change.
The NHL should definitely consider implementing this rule however because plays like this waste so much time throughout the game.
This rule would save a lot of time and keep the game operating at a fast pace as it is supposed to be.
