The NHL officially pulled out of the Olympic games after a string of missed games, but it sounds like despite missing 70 games due to the COVID outbreak the AHL will make their players available to their National teams should they be selected.
Jeff Marek from Sportsnet reported the following:
"In the next 10 days or so the AHL will make a decision on whether they will allow players under AHL contracts to participate in the Olympics, now we expect this to get the rubber stamp much like it did in 2018".
During Saturday nights intermission the following names were all mentioned as potential Olympians should the AHL choose to attend. Devan Dubnyk (PTO w/ Charlotte - Team Canada), Cody Franson (Hershey - Team Canada), Jason Garrison (Syracuse - Team Canada), and Josh Ho-Sang (Toronto - Team Canada). Defenceman Cody Goloubef (Belleville - Team Canada).
