Talk around Connor McDavid has been ongoing all summer long, and now, a top NHL Insider believes an extension is getting done today.
For much of the NHL off-season, fans around the league, but especially those in Edmonton have been patiently waiting for an extension for their superstar captain Connor McDavid.
To this point, he hasn't revealed his intentions, stating he simply wants to do what's best for himself and his family, but now, all signs are pointing towards a deal getting done very, very soon.

After all that speculation, Friedman has seemingly made a major call, taking to social media to predict that things are working towards an announcement of an extension for McDavid on Monday.

In his prediction, Friedman doesn't reveal any details about what he thinks a deal will look like and when the announcement is coming, but after so much speculation, this must be music to the Oilers fans ears.
From all reports, McDavid is likely looking for a short-term extension, likely in the 2-3 year range, and given how far ahead he is of his competition in the NHL, it would make sense for his next deal to be at least $14 million per season, if not more.
