Logan Cooley is one of the brightest young stars in the NHL, but now, reports have emerged that he is refusing to sign a massive new deal in Utah.

Back in the 2022 NHL Draft, the then Arizona Coyotes used the No. 3 overall pick on talented centre Logan Cooley, and as of right now, it's paying off big time for the Utah Mammoth.
The 21-year old scored the second most points on the team a year ago after putting up 25 goals and 65 points in 75 games played, and now, their top line centre is expected to carry the team towards the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2025/26.

Cooley shuts down massive offer from the Utah Mammoth

However, things may not be as good as they seem, as Frank Seravalli has now revealed that the 21-year old has turned down a massive offer from the organization, one that would have seen him become the highest paid player for the team.
According to Seravalli, the team were making a push to sign him to an eight-year, $77 million deal ($9.6 million annually), but the talented young centre bet on himself and turned it down.
With one year left remaining before restricted free agency, the former top draft pick clearly believes he can get more on the open market, and with the salary cap expected to continue rising, there's a good chance that if he tops 65 points this season, teams will be lining up to add the talented star.
The Mammoth have plenty of team control over Cooley between now and unrestricted free agency however, and with the team knowing how valuable a 1/2C combo of Cooley and Barrett Hayton are, they'll no doubt be increasing their offer to him moving forward.
