Justin Holl of the Red Wings Among 42 Players on Waivers Today

Ahead of the 2023/24 season, the Detroit Red Wings signed veteran Justin Holl to a three-year deal worth $10.2 million, and unsurprisingly, they drew plenty of criticism for the move.
Now, with just one year remaining on his deal, he has officially been placed on waivers, with the team likely not going to find a spot for him on their regular season roster as they look to get back into contention for the Stanley Cup Playoffs soon.

It's highly unlikely that Holl will be waived given the $3.4 million salary cap hit that comes with him, with the team now likely to bury his deal down in the American Hockey League.
On top of Holl, former NHLers such as Walker Duehr, Cayden Primeau, Sammy Blais, Ville Heinola and Max Jones all find their way onto waivers, and with rosters needing to be finalized soon, don't be shocked to see some teams out there consider moves for any of these players.
