REPORT: Patrick Kane Being Heavily Pursued by Canadian Team

Recently, James Wilson of NHL Trade Rumors revealed some massive information regarding Patrick Kane's NHL future and the teams pursuing him.

Any Maple Leafs fan would salivate at the idea of having Patrick Kane on their team joining their roster. The prospect of him with Auston Matthews is enough to scare most of the NHL.

The problem with the Leafs targeting Kane is they have basically no money to offer him. They currently are projected to be at $3 million over the cap limit so they will focus on moving out some more expensive pieces.

Kane will not come cheap. At his peak, Kane is an 8 figure player and if he can return to that form, he is going to prove to be worth that kind of money. It is nearly certain he will not get a contract that big so he could opt for a short-term deal worth small money with a bunch of cup-related bonuses.

If the Leafs were to move on from an expensive player like William Nylander or TJ Brodie, we could watch them open up the cap space to sign Kane and with Kane, they could become instant cup favorites.

Only time will tell what Kane will decide to do but when he makes his decision, he will choose the best team for him and his pursuit of winning a Stanley Cup.
