Carter Hart Expected to Sign Multi-Year Contract With Golden Knights Imminently

After everything that has followed him away from the ice, the Vegas Golden Knights were intent on signing goaltender Carter Hart, recently confirming that they had signed him to a tryout deal.

This came with plenty of backlash, but given Hart's talent on the ice, they persisted with the signing, believing that behind Adin Hill, Hart is a backup that can be a genuine difference maker in their pursuit of their second ever Stanley Cup.

Now, it's been confirmed that Hart will now be signing a multi-year deal with the Golden Knights, with TSN's Darren Dreger confirming the news on Friday.

The details of the contract will be two-years, $2 million per season, and in spite of all the reasons not to sign Hart, the team clearly believe that he's ready to play NHL hockey again and will be a player that can genuinely contribute to winning hockey moving forward.

However, despite signing him now, Hart can't officially return to a regular season game in the NHL until December 1st, meaning that the team will need to rely on Akira Schmid and Carl Lindbom in the absence of Hill as he goes through his injury.

Ultimately, people will have their opinions on Hart and whether or not he should be playing, but it was cleared by the NHL and the NHLPA, and now, it's a matter of when, not if we see him back after his deal with the Golden Knights became official on a two-year term.
