The Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks have completed a trade with one another for former first round pick Lukas Reichel.
There is a
trade to report between a pair of Western Conference foes, as the Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks have officially made a transaction with one another.
The Blackhawks have traded Lukas Reichel to the Canucks for a 4th round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft:
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the #Canucks have acquired forward Lukas Reichel from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.
Last week, NHL analyst David Pagnotta reported that the Canucks were in the market for a middle-6 forward because of the absence of
Nils Hoglander, and that GM Patrik Allvin was exploring trade possibilities.
The Vancouver Canucks are believed to be looking for a middle-six forward to add to their roster due to winger Nils Hoglander missing the next eight-to-ten weeks because of an injury. Canucks GM Patrik Allvin has been exploring options, according to separate league sources, but it is unclear if a move is imminent.
So far this year with the Blackhawks, Reichel had 4 points (2G, 2A).
Lukas Reichel is a Former First Round Pick
Reichel was taken with the 17th overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft while he was playing for Eisbaren Berlin in the DEL.
He eventually joined the AHL affiliate Rockford IceHogs in 2021-22, scoring 57 points (21G, 36A) in 56 games. He also got 11 games of NHL experience under his belt with the Blackhawks.
In his NHL career, Reichel has 58 points (22G, 36A) in 174 career games.
