Joseph Woll Returns to Toronto After Taking Mysterious Leave of Absence

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that goaltender Joseph Woll is ready to rejoin the team after he missed a month dealing with a personal issue.
The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't had goaltender Joseph Woll for the 1st several games of this year after he took a leave of absence from the team to address an undisclosed personal matter.
But shortly after the Maple Leafs put him on Long Term Injured Reserve, they've now announced that he's ready to rejoin the team and he'll start resuming team activities.
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that goaltender Joseph Woll is rejoining the team and will resume team activities and on-ice participation as part of the return-to-play process.
Last year, Woll went 27-14-0 with a 2.73 GAA. It will understandably take some time for Woll to get back up to playing speed after missing a month of action.
Maple Leafs Head Coach Craig Berube Declined to Talk about Woll
After Thursday's practice, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube didn't offer many details as to why Woll had taken a leave of absence or if he was any closer to returning.

Woll was taken with the 62nd overall pick by the Maple Leafs in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, and would go on to play 3 years at Boston College before joining the AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies.
He made his NHL debut for the Leafs in 2021-22, playing in 4 games.
So far in his NHL career, Woll has gone 48-27-2 with a 2.74 GAA and 2 shutouts.
