The New Jersey Devils are off to a hot start in 2025/26, but now they may miss a key forward piece in Cody Glass for a significant stretch of time.
After a promising campaign a year ago, the New Jersey Devils are off to a red-hot start this season, going 6-1-0 through their first six games as they've found themselves atop the highly competitive Metropolitan Division.
Simply put, the Devils have been arguably the most balanced team in the entire NHL, shutting down opposing offense's while scoring consistently, and it's got them optimistic about their Stanley Cup hopes this year.
Cody Glass Set To Miss Significant Time With An Injury
Unfortunately, injury has struck for the Devils, as it appears as though Cody Glass is going to
miss significant time this season, with Head Coach Sheldon Keefe revealing 'this isn't a day-to-day situation'.
However, he remains somewhat confident that Glass won't miss a major portion of the year, hoping that it's going to be no more than a few weeks, but as of right now, there's been no clear diagnosis and timeline given on his potential return from injury.
The exact period, not quite sure but it's not a day-to-day situation. We're hoping it's no more than a couple of weeks but we'll see how it goes.
In six games this season, Glass has played his role as a middle-six forward well, tallying 2 points and a +1 differential in that time, and while he's not been a star in New Jersey, he's the perfect depth for this team right now.
Only time will tell whether or not Glass is going to be out for 2-3 weeks or even months, with updates likely to come from the organization soon, but given their red-hot start, this is the last thing that the Devils needed at this point.
