Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis blasted the officials during last night's game against the Edmonton Oilers after a stunning 6-5 final.
It looked like the Montreal Canadiens were about to pad their lead in the Atlantic Division when they took a 5-3 lead over the Edmonton Oilers, the 2x defending Western Conference champions, in the 3rd period of last night's game in Edmonton.
But after a pair of penalties resulted in the same number of Oilers PPG goals that allowed them to tie the game and then later eventually score the GWG late in the 3rd period, the Canadiens feel like something was going on.
After the Oilers picked up a stunning 6-5 win after initially trailing 5-3, Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis ripped the officiating and said he hopes that the NHL takes a look at the performance of the specific officials who worked the game.
We watch video and we try to get better as a group. I hope the league has the same process as coaches do. - Martin St. Louis

Officiating After the Canadiens Loss
Not only did St. Louis rip the officiating after the Canadiens lost,
but so did forward Cole Caufield.
Refs kind of took over the game there. And kudos to them for winning it. - Cole Caufield
The Canadiens are off to a hot start this year and are trying to build on their season last year that saw them get
back to the playoffs for the 1st time since their surprise run to the 2021 SCF that they eventually lost in 5 games to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Right now, they appear to be in a good position for a playoff return, but they have a clear beef with the NHL officials after what transpired in Thursday's game against the Oilers.
