William Nylander reaches a low he hasn't hit in nearly six years

Maple Leafs forward William Nylander has now gone consecutive games without a single shot on goal, which is the longest he's gone without a SOG since 2019.
There isn't much going right for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are in a serious funk and have been unable to generate any kind of consistency so far this year in the second season of Craig Berube behind the bench.
With their most recent 3-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, forward William Nylander, who is relied upon for offense, set a dismal mark in his personal career not seen since 2019.
He's now gone consecutive games without a single shot on goal, which hasn't happened since 2019, very early in the tenure of Sheldon Keefe as coach after replacing Mike Babcock the previous month.
William Nylander has not registered a shot in consecutive games. First time since Dec. 17, 2019.
Nylander has been productive for the Leafs so far with 26 points (8G, 18A) in 16 games played. But they need more out of him, and they can't afford for him not to even get a single puck on net.
Berube
has been vocal about the Maple Leafs needing to rebuild their confidence, but so far, it hasn't happened.
The Maple Leafs Are Very Shorthanded Right Now
The Maple Leafs were severely shorthanded as part of their 3-2 loss to the Blackhawks on Saturday.
They also didn't have defenseman
Chris Tanev, who is also on Injured Reserve.
