The Toronto Maple Leafs have started 2025/26 incredibly poorly, and now, their Head Coach has revealed how he's going to get this team their confidence back.
This season was expected to be one of change for the Toronto Maple Leafs, but after an 8-8-2 start to the year, they're in a spot that no one could have seen coming entering the season.
Many have expressed their hope that the Maple Leafs could make some changes to this roster, with
rumours circulating over a potential blockbuster trade, but as of right now, it's their current roster that has to dig them out of this hole.
Craig Berube calls on the Maple Leafs to find their confidence after a tough start
As of right now, it's no secret that there are many question marks over the Maple Leafs immediate and long-term future, and when asked about how to get the team's confidence back, Craig Berube urged them to lean on hard work to get it back.
Yeah we're in adversity right now, well what are we going to do? We're going to go through that adversity, go through that wall. Find a way to get through it. Climb over the wall, whatever it is.
Clearly, the talent and the chemistry we've seen in past regular seasons for this team isn't there at this point, and with
Auston Matthews headed to
Injured Reserve, they can't simply rely on their elite talent to pull themselves out of the hole they've dug for themselves.
Ultimately, this isn't the team we've seen in recent years, and if they have any hope of contending this season, they need to grind their way to some tough, ugly victories to get some confidence back, but if their rough start continues, we could see some major changes in Toronto.
