Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward David Kampf has already found his new home, as he has signed with the Vancouver Canucks on a one year contract.

After the Toronto Maple Leafs put forward David Kampf on waivers for the purposes of buying out his contract, he has now found his new home.
Kampf has signed a one year contract with the Vancouver Canucks with a reported AAV (average annual value) of $1.1 million.
Per NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, it's the outcome that he most expected to take place.
I think this was the outcome that everybody expected. That had the most need for a centre and the most interest ended up with him.

Kampf did not make the Leafs roster out of the preseason and was waived, but he refused to report to the AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies, which they considered a breach of his contract.
Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube recently said that he understood the frustration on Kampf's part.
«I didn't see frustration in Kampf. He came in, and obviously there was competition at camp, and he had to fight for his spot. We have too many players, and we've got to make decisions. Him going down to the minors, he doesn't feel like he wants to be down there, so that's his decision on what he does. That's not for me to answer. - Craig Berube

David Kampf Now Plays For the Vancouver Canucks After His Time In Toronto Ended

Never drafted into the NHL, Kampf signed a two year, entry level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2017.
He'd spend four years in the Blackhawks organization before deciding to sign a UFA deal with the Vancouver Canucks, where he'd play until he decided to join the Maple Leafs.
Kampf has 143 points (48G, 95A) in 536 career NHL games.
