San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky has apologized for his controversial comments in which he said he'd give up one of his kids so the team could finally get their 1st win of the year.

The frustration of San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky after their latest loss was evident, but his postgame comments are what really drew controversy.
After their 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in front of a sparse crowd at SAP Center, Warsofsky said that he would give up one of his children if it means that the Sharks could win a game.
It sucks. I keep telling myself that there's got to be a reason why this keeps on happening. I'd give up one of my children for a f***ing win.'

I'm sorry for swearing. Just very, very frustrated and we're going to keep working at it.

But now, he's apologizing for what he said and walking it back.
Obviously, just want to apologize for my comments after the game. I love my kids, I would never give them up. I love my wife. I'm a passionate, emotional person, and probably got ahead of me there, and so I apologize for those comments.

The Sharks will have a chance to finally pick up their 1st win of the new season when they play the New York Islanders at UBS Arena tomorrow.

Ryan Warsofsky is in His 2nd Year as Sharks Head Coach

Things have not gone well for the Sharks in the last several years, as they haven't made the playoffs since 2019 and have also been at or near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
Warsofsky was named the head coach of the team in 2024 after he had been an assistant under previous Sharks coach David Quinn.
His total coaching record with the Sharks is 20-53-14.
