Flames Place 6-Foot-4 Right Shot Defenseman on Waivers
The Calgary Flames are active on the waiver wire today, as they put 6'4 defenseman Daniil Miromanov up for grabs; he can be claimed by any of the other 31 NHL teams or will otherwise be sent to the AHL.
There is more action on the
NHL waiver wire today, as the Clagary Flames have announced that 6'4 defenseman Daniil Miromanov is now up for grabs for the next 24 hours.
If he doesn't get claimed by any of the 31 other NHL teams, he'll be assigned to the American Hockey League affiliate Calgary Wranglers.
He was never drafted while playing in both the KHL and Czechia, and he would sign a 1 year entry level contract with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2021.
After splitting his time in the Golden Knights organization between the NHL and AHL, he would be traded to the Flames as part of the Noah Hanafin trade.
He's been used sparingly by the Flames this year, playing in only a single game and getting burned on the GWG against the Golden Knights on October 14.
He has 23 total points (9G, 16A) in 94 career NHL games with the Golden Knights and Flames. He's in the last year of his current contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $1,250,000.
The Waiving of Daniil Miromanov Could Mean Martin Pospisil is Nearing a Return
The waiving of defenseman Daniil Miromanov by the Flames clears up a roster spot for Martin Pospisil, who hasn't yet played this year but has been skating and could be on the verge of a return.
He won't play on Monday against the Winnipeg Jets, but his return to the ice is a good sign that he could be getting closer to making his 1st appearance of the new season.
Last year, Pospisil had 25 points (4G, 19A) in 81 games for the Flames.
