Connor Hellebuyck may be open to a trade to the Edmonton Oilers, per Sportsnet's Sean Reynolds, as the Jets look to win now.

Connor Hellebuyck's future in Winnipeg has officially become the biggest storyline of the NHL offseason, and now a fresh report has Oilers fans paying even closer attention.
The three time Vezina Trophy winner made his trade request public last week through his agent, and the fallout has teams across the league lining up to gauge their odds.
Sportsnet's Sean Reynolds, appearing on the Bleed Oil Blue Podcast, said he believes Hellebuyck would be willing to accept a move to Edmonton if the Oilers came calling.
Reynolds also noted that Jets management isn't looking to rebuild around this decision.
Instead, Winnipeg wants pieces who can help the roster win immediately, which shapes what kind of return they'll be chasing in any deal.

Why Edmonton makes sense

The Oilers have been searching for stability in net for years, and Hellebuyck represents about as close to a sure thing as exists in the league right now.
He's coming off back to back Vezina winning seasons and has a Jennings Trophy and a Hart finalist nod to his name as well.
For a team still chasing a Stanley Cup with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in their prime, an upgrade like this could be the missing piece.

What it would cost

Edmonton doesn't have a deep prospect cupboard, so any offer would likely need to include young NHL ready talent and multiple first round picks to get Winnipeg's attention.
Hellebuyck is entering just the third season of a seven year deal worth $8.5 million annually, giving whoever lands him significant term at a reasonable price for an elite starter.
Nothing is close to finalized, but the connection between Hellebuyck and Edmonton is one worth watching closely as training camps approach.
