The Montreal Canadiens have emerged as a prime suitor for the veteran winger.

Adding Tarasenko gives Montreal a legitimate top-six upgrade following the departure of Patrik Laine.

Beyond his immediate offensive impact on the ice, his presence would provide crucial guidance and a steadying mentor-like presence for dynamic young winger Ivan Demidov as he adjusts to North American action.

Meanwhile, the Boston Bruins represent another desperate destination.

Boston struggled to generate secondary scoring down the stretch and faces starting the upcoming campaign with several unproven young forwards.

With roughly $5.3 million in remaining salary cap space, offering a short-term deal around the $2.5 million mark gives the Bruins an affordable guaranteed 20-goal producer to fortify their forward ranks.
