The San Jose Sharks have decided to part ways with veteran forward Jeff Skinner, putting him on waivers for purposes of having his contract terminated.
It looks like veteran NHL forward Jeff Skinner may be running out of options to continue his career.
Today, the San Jose Sharks put him on waivers for the purposes of a contract termination, as reported by NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman.

He had 13 points (6G, 7A) in 32 games this year. He hasn't played since January 11.
Jeff Skinner Was Playing In His First Year With The San Jose Sharks
Skinner's NHL career began with promise when he was taken by the Carolina Hurricanes with the seventh overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
He would eventually win the Calder Trophy in 2011 as the NHL's best rookie for his first year in the NHL, during which he also was named to the 2011 All-Star Game roster as an injury replacement for Sidney Crosby.
After eight years with the Hurricanes, he was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 2018, where he would play for the next several years. All throughout his time in Carolina and Buffalo, he never once played in the postseason.
That changed last year when he was part of the Edmonton Oilers team that went to the Stanley Cup Final for the second straight year, losing once again to the Florida Panthers.
After a single year in Edmonton, he signed with the Sharks for one year and an AAV (average annual value) of $3 million.
He has 712 points (379G, 333A) in 1,110 games.
