The Rangers have been up-and-down this season, but now hours before a crucial matchup, David Quinn has potentially been rushed to hospital with illness.
The New York Rangers entered 2025/26 looking for a bounce back after a disappointing campaign a year ago, and through their first 38 games, they're currently sitting at 18-16-4.
There's been plenty of positives, but there's also been negatives, and ahead of their final game before the Christmas break, there's some issues running through the locker room.
Rangers assistant ruled out with illness
Earlier on Tuesday, the Rangers announced on social media that assistant coach David Quinn has been
ruled out of their game against the Washington Capitals due to illness.
Then, that was followed up by a report from Mollie Walker, who revealed that there's a bug going through the Rangers locker room, with an ambulance on standby, with hopes that it doesn't become too serious.
There's been no update on the situation from Walker as of right now, but given how quickly these things can spread, the hope is that the team can push through and make a competitive matchup out of things.
As of right now, it's unclear whether or not Quinn's situation is stable or if there's issues that need to be taken care of, but given how important this time of year is to family, this is the last thing anyone wants to see.
Without Quinn and with a bug going through the locker room, the Rangers will try and tough things out and make a push against a very good Washington Capitals team, but it's safe to say that there's much bigger things going on in the locker room on Tuesday night.
