The Montreal Canadiens announced that defenseman Jayden Struble is unavailable for today's game against the Colorado Avalanche because of an injury that took place during last night's victory over the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Montréal Canadiens, after signing defenseman Mike Matheson to an extension, managed to pick up an impressive 4-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights last night at T-Mobile Arena, which has always been one of the most intimidating places for opponents to play in since debuting in 2017.
The Canadiens will now try and keep the momentum going when they play the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena, but if they're going to pick up two points, they'll have to do so while shorthanded.
Montreal has announced that defenseman Jayden Struble is unavailable for today's game with an upper body injury.
Defenseman Jayden Struble (upper body) won't suit up in today's game.
During last night's game, Struble played in 17:09 worth of ice time, and he has four assists in the 19 total games he's played so far this year in a Habs sweater.
He was taken with the 46th overall pick by the Canadiens in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, but would go on to play four seasons at Northeastern University before starting his professional career with the AHL affiliate Laval Rocket.
Today's game will already be challenging enough for the Habs, as the Avalanche have lost only one game so far this season in regulation.

The Canadiens Beat The Golden Knights 4-1 At T-Mobile Arena

The Canadiens' win over the Golden Knights was made possible thanks to one of the best performances of the year by goaltender Samuel Montembeault, who has faced increased scrutiny for his inconsistent play.
Montembeault credited his teammates with their early third period goal as one of the sparks behind the victory, which was the team's 13th overall of the season.
The goal (early) in the third helped. It allowed us, especially playing a back-to-back, to roll our lines a bit more in the third. So, I felt good throughout the game. It's fun to have worked during the week and to see the effect it has in a game. Now we try to build on that and find that consistency.

After Montembeault's win yesterday in Las Vegas, Jakub Dobes will try and get the job done for the Habs today in Denver against the Avalanche.
