Four-time Stanley Cup Champion Robert Rousseau passes away
Robert Rousseau was a key piece of four Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup wins, and now, the team and the NHL world are mourning his passing.
The Montreal Canadiens of the 1960's were one of the most dominant teams in sports history, as the squad won several Stanley Cup's with a group that would contain countless future Hall of Famers.
Between 1964 and 1969, they came away with four Cup victories, and while the Hall of Fame level players led the way, there was plenty of depth on those incredible squads.
Montreal Canadiens pay tribute to Robert Rousseau
One of those players was Robert Rousseau, who played in 942 games with the Canadiens, Minnesota North Stars and New York Rangers across a fantastic 15-year NHL career.
Throughout that career, Rousseau tallied 245 goals and 703 points, and while he never reached the heights of his star studded teammates, he put together a lengthy career on the ice that many would be proud of.
On Saturday, the team officially announced his passing at 85-years of age, with the entire NHL world coming together to pay tribute to the long-time NHLer that had plenty of success both on and off the ice throughout his career.
Rousseau passed in his home in Trois-Rivieres, and clearly given the amount of people paying tribute to him, he had a huge impact on many throughout his stellar NHL career.
We too take the time to send our condolences to the friends, family, former teammates and fans of Rousseau, as he clearly touched the lives of so many while having immense success on the ice.
Rest in Peace, Robert Rousseau.
