'This is a big mistake by Team Canada': Frank Seravalli defends Connor Bedard after Olympic snub
Connor Bedard has been one of the NHL's best players this season, and now, Frank Seravalli has defended him after being snubbed by Team Canada.
Team Canada picked up a gold medal in dramatic fashion at the Four Nations Face Off, and with the 2026 Olympic Games now just a matter of weeks away, they've officially selected their roster for the tournament.
Unsurprisingly, there were some shock decisions made, with the likes of Sam Bennett and Seth Jarvis missing out after good performances at the Four Nations, but they aren't the biggest snub of all.
That, to many would belong to rising Chicago Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard, who has 19 goals and 44 points in 31 games played this season, making him one of the best players in the league for much of the 2025/26 campaign.
Frank Seravalli calls out Team Canada for Bedard snub
While there were other snubs, hockey media has been in an uproar since Wednesday's announcement from Canada, and now, Frank Seravalli has joined in on it, making a major statement on Canada's decision to not select Connor Bedard.

Instead of Bedard, Canada went with the likes of Brayden Point, Anthony Cirelli and Brandon Hagel because of their connections to Head Coach Jon Cooper, with many clearly believing this bias could cost Canada.
Ultimately, the Canadians still have some of the best players in the league heading to the Olympics, but given some of their questionable decisions and the move to leave Bedard off the roster, it's easy to see why many have questioned the competence of those in charge.
