Martin Necas, one of the Carolina Hurricanes' top forwards, looks like he is hitting the trade block per insider Elliotte Friedman.

After the Carolina Hurricanes season was ended by the New York Rangers two days ago, a lot of news has been coming out regarding their many top pending free agents.

Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman shared massive news regarding the Czech forward.

With Necas not being expected to sign in Carolina, it makes things quite interesting as he is a pending restricted free agent. He could potentially be offer sheeted by a team looking to bring him in for cheaper than trade market value.

The natural center has been playing on the wing for most of his NHL career and has been succeeding despite it. He led the Hurricanes in points in 2022-23 with 71 and this past season performed with 53 points while bouncing all around the Hurricanes' lineup.

In the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs, he was only outscored by Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov. What makes this extremely impressive is how he was playing on the Hurricanes' third line alongside Jack Drury and Jordan Martinook while Aho and Svechnikov were playing with each other and Jake Guentzel.

He will certainly fetch a lot on the trade market and is primed for a breakout year with whoever his next team is.
