Team Czechia forward Martin Necas explained his point of view during last week's controversial too-many-men goal vs. Canada that counted when it shouldn't have per the rules.
There was controversy in last week's Olympics game between Team Canada and Team Czechia, as Ondrej Palat's go-ahead goal in the third period happened when replays showed they had too many men on the ice.
Had that been the last goal of the game, Canada would have had a major beef with the officiating crew that missed an obvious penalty. But Canada was able to come back and win the game in overtime.
Now, Czechia forward Martin Necas is speaking out about what he saw.
The coaches switched us up in the third period, and I was playing with Hertl and Palič. But I was used to switching with Červus. Well, we must've had some miscommunication with Palič.
So I jumped in for Červus. But Palič jumped in there too. Well, and that's how we scored that six-on-six goal.
Well, and now we're celebrating, and I see that Palič is there and on the other side Pasta. And as I'm looking at Pasta, I say 'dude, there's somehow too many of us here, something's off'. But if you wanna beat Canada, you gotta try everything. - Martin Necas

Czechia Nearly Pulled Off The Upset Over Canada
Czechia was only a few minutes away from eliminating Canada from the Olympics, had it not been for the game-tying goal from Nick Suzuki and then the subsequent game-winner from Mitch Marner.
Had Czechia pulled off the upset, it would have been one of the biggest upsets on the ice in Olympic history.
Eventually, Canada was beaten for the gold medal by Team USA, who won it for the first time since 1980.
