Tyler Myers appears to be on the move from the Vancouver Canucks, and now Darren Dreger has revealed the likely destination for the massive defenseman.
The 2026 Olympic Games have now come and gone, and with the NHL starting again on Wednesday, fans are excited to gear up for what will be an intense Stanley Cup Playoffs chase over the next few months.
Those teams in the race will be looking to gear up too, and with the trade deadline less than two weeks away, things are about to start moving quickly around the league in the next few days.
One player that could be on the move next is Vancouver Canucks blue liner Tyler Myers, with the team scratching Myers for trade related purposes on Wednesday, signalling that something may be imminent.
Detroit seen as the favourite to land Myers
Given his size and how effect he can be in the intense, physical fight of a Stanley Cup Playoffs series, there's plenty of suitors out there for Myers, but now NHL Insider Darren Dreger has named the Detroit Red Wings as the favourite for him.
After kicking tires on the likes of Rasmus Andersson and Mackenzie Weegar among others, Detroit make sense as a team looking to add size to their blue line, with Myers fitting that bill perfectly, and while he's a -25 this season, there's hope he can turn things around in a new environment.
Ultimately though, Dreger also named Dallas as one of a few other teams still looking into how to acquire Myers, and with trade speculation heating up, it appears we'll have answers on this one, sooner, rather than later.
