After being made a healthy scratch in each of Canada’s last two games, veteran Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand has learned his fate for their next game in the Olympic quarterfinals.
Team Canada continued to dominate in the 2026 Olympics, beating France 10-2 in a game that wasn’t even remotely close or competitive.
But for their next game, a lineup change has been announced by head coach Jon Cooper.
Veteran Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand, who had been made a healthy scratch the last two games, will slot back into the lineup per head coach Jon Cooper.

So far this year in his first year in a Panthers, Marchand has 50 points (25G, 25A).
Brad Marchand Is Playing In His First Year In A Panthers Sweater
Marchand had played his entire career in a Boston Bruins sweater up until last year when he was traded in a stunning deal to the divisional foe Panthers.
He then helped the Panthers win the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row, and then decided to stick around with a six year contract that takes him through the age of 43.
Whether or not he plays that entire length of the contract remains to be seen, but it was a testament to the work of GM Bill Zito that he was able to re-sign not only Marchand but also UFA’s Sam Bennett and Aaron Ekblad.
He’ll have his work cut out for him when he comes back to the NHL to get the Panthers back into the playoffs.
