Team Canada forward Nathan MacKinnon had a response after he was leveled by Team France's Pierre Crinon, who was then challenged by Tom Wilson.
Team Canada had absolutely zero problem playing against Team France today, beating them 10-2 in what was a merciless beatdown.
There was a bit of controversy, however, when France's Pierre Crinon leveled Canada's Nathan MacKinnon, which caused his teammate Tom Wilson to immediately target in violation of Olympic rules.
Not long after the game was over, MacKinnon said that Crinon apologized to him, but that he also appreciated MacKinnon sticking up for him.
He said ‘Sorry,’ so thanks I guess for saying sorry. Yeah, obviously I appreciate Tom for sticking up for me.
I don’t think Tom started anything, you know? He just responding to a dirty hit. So, like I said, I appreciate it. - Nathan MacKinnon

MacKinnon had an assist in the win and now has five points.
Canada Beat France 10-2 And Showed No Mercy
Canada is once again looking to claim a gold medal with NHL players suiting up for them, just as they did in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
They didn't let up once, as noticed by French captain Pierre-Edouard Bellmare.
They are hustling. Those are the best players in the world, and they were playing a nation that is supposedly not in the top 12, so they could really take it easy. Instead, they are just working their bag off. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe they were like, you know, smoke a cig and playing, but I feel like they worked. - Pierre-Edouard Bellmare
