WATCH: Max Pacioretty speaks on the infamous hit from Zdeno Chara
One of the longest hockey rivalries going are the Boston Bruins vs the Montreal Canadiens.
Back on March 8th 2011, a play in which Max Pacioretty was racing for the puck trying to get out of his zone, Zdeno Chara landed a big hit on him and during which catches his head right into the turnbuckle.While on the Raw Knuckles podcast, Pacioretty had this to say about the incident:
I was so dumb, I was like if I get my head bashed in, then I get it bashed in, If you look at the clock on that play, he pushes my head into the glass. It's a nothing play, it's me being young and stupid, like let me try and win this race at the end of a period that has no relevance on the game at all. Obviously he turns my head into the turnbuckle, but I don't remember anything else. I remember waking up in the hospital.
