The Boston/Carolina series will start the 1st of 3 game 7s in the first round of the NHL playoffs on Saturday, May 14.

Initially down 2-0 in the series Boston won 2 straight and then won game 6 in Boston yesterday 5-2 to force a game 7 as they were facing elimination.

While the last thing the Bruins and their fans want to be thinking about is the offseason with the chance to go to 2nd round of the playoffs right in front of them, speculation about team captain Patrice Bergeron's future with the team has come up.

Only under contract until the end of this season, Bergeron hasn't indicated what his future will be.

Former NHLer Tony Amonte, was on 'NBC Sports Boston' after the Bruins' huge game six win over Carolina.

"If anyone deserves to make that decision, it's Bergy. He has spent all 18 years of his career with the Bs, and he's been an integral piece of three trips to the Stanley Cup Final and winning it once. Not many players can say they've even made it that far ever. He's been loyal to the black and yellow for a long time now, and he'll always be one of the greatest Bruins to lace them up."

Time will tell if Bergeron re-signs, retires, or signs with another team.
