St. Louis Blues trade captain Brayden Schenn to metro division team

The teardown of the St. Louis Blues is on, as they have traded captain Brayden Schenn to the New York Islanders per multiple reports.
The St. Louis Blues are expected to make multiple deals today, and they've started by sending their captain packing.
The Blues have traded captain Brayden Schenn to the New York Islanders after getting him to agree to waive his no-trade clause.
Multiple analysts have confirmed that Schenn is going to be the newest member of the Islanders.
The Blues got a considerable package in return for Schenn, including Jonathan Drouin, a first round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft that originally belonged to the Colorado Avalanche, a 3rd-round pick and prospect Marcus Gidlof.
So far this year in 61 games, Schenn has 28 points (12G, 16A).
Brayden Schenn Won A Stanley Cup With The St. Louis Blues In 2019
Schenn, who was taken by the Los Angeles Kings with the fifth overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in 2011 as part of the blockbuster Mike Richards trade with Wayne Simmonds.
He played the next several years of his NHL career with the Flyers before eventually being traded to the Blues in 2017 for for Jori Lehtera and several draft picks.
He helped the Blues win their first and only Stanley Cup in franchise history in 2019, and would later be named captain of the team after the departure of Alex Pietrangelo.
He still has two years left on his contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $6.5 million.
