LA Kings unexpectedly trade Corey Perry

The Los Angeles Kings have traded Corey Perry, despite him allegedly saying that he wants to stay with the team, back to the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he previously played.
Corey Perry is going back to one of his former teams in a move that has caught many fans and analysts alike by surprise.
Playing in his first year with the Los Angeles Kings, Perry has been traded back to the Tampa Bay Lightning, despite reports that he wanted to remain with the Kings and was even allegedly talking about an extension to stay with them beyond this year.
The Kings are getting a second round draft pick back from the Lightning for Perry.
So far this year for Perry, which began with an injury, he has 28 points (11G, 17A) in 50 games played.
Corey Perry Is On His Way Back To The Tampa Bay Lightning
Perry played the majority of his NHL career with the Anaheim Ducks before joining the Dallas Stars in 2019, and he has since played for the Montreal Canadiens, Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks, Edmonton Oilers and Kings.
He's made unfortunate NHL history by losing in the Stanley Cup Final five times with four different teams since 2020. With the Lightning, Perry lost against the Colorado Avalanche in 2022. He had lost to the Lightning in the Cup final with the Habs in 2021, and before that, lost to the Lightning in 2020 with the Stars.
While with the Oilers, he's lost in the Cup Final in each of the last two years to the Florida Panthers.
In 1,442 career NHL games, Perry has 963 points (459G, 504A).
