The Chicago Blackhawks have traded captain Nick Foligno to the divisional foe Minnesota Wild, marking the latest move by Wild GM Bill Guerin.

The Chicago Blackhawks have already traded Jason Dickinson, Connor Murphy and Colton Dach to the Edmonton Oilers, and now they've traded their most vocal leader.
Captain Nick Foligno has been traded to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for future considerations, as reported by NHL analyst Pierre LeBrun.

Foligno has missed several games this year while attending to a personal situation involving his daughter, who needed surgery. He has 11 points (3G, 8A) in 37 career games.
He'll join his brother Marcus Foligno in a Wild sweater. It will give him a chance to compete for a Stanley Cup, as the Wild are in third place behind the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars in the Central Division, while the Blackhawks will not make the playoffs.

Foligno has made many stops during his NHL career, which started when he was taken by the Ottawa Senators with the 28th overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
He was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2012 for Marc Methot, and eventually became captain of the team that upset the Tampa Bay Lightning in a shocking sweep in 2019.
He's since played for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins before being acquired by the Blackhawks in 2023.
Foligno has 608 career points (250G, 358A) in 1,270 career NHL games.
