Corey Perry may not have taken the ice for the LA Kings in their home opener, but that didn't stop fans from booing him after years spent as a top rival.
Corey Perry shockingly left the Edmonton Oilers this summer, opting to take a new deal in free agency instead as he officially signed with their bitter Pacific Division rival Los Angeles Kings.
Unfortunately for Perry, he suffered an
injury at practice, meaning that he'll likely miss the first 4-6 weeks of the regular season, with Kings fans needing to wait to see their new acquisition.

However, even when injured, the home opener got even worse for Perry, as he was audibly booed by his home fans when he was announced ahead of their matchup with the Colorado Avalanche.
While this looks bad, it may not come as a surprise to many people, as Perry has spent the majority of his career with a Kings rival, beginning with 14 years in Anaheim before spending the last two years eliminating them from the post-season with the Edmonton Oilers.
Once he takes the ice and starts producing for this team, there's no doubt that fans will warm up to him, but as of right now, it's clear that they've not quite yet come to terms with their career rival now playing for their team.
In their home opener, the Kings managed just one goal against the Avalanche, so they clearly need Perry's two way game to help them produce, but for now, he's going to have a tall task in winning over Kings fans when he eventually returns from injury.
